The City of Portland offers complimentary microchipping for residents' pet(s). This service has no cost for the lifespan of your pet! Microchipping your pet greatly increases the chances of your pet being found and returned safely in the case they escape your home. To take advantage of this service, you will need to show proof of Portland residency and rabies vaccination records for your pet(s).

Please note: Microchipping a cat or other small animal can be dangerous both to the pet and personnel. As a result, the City of Portland does not offer microchipping for cats. We recommend you consult your veterinarian to determine if chipping is right for your cat or small animal.
