2020 farmers market

The Portland Farmers Market is back! The City of Portland Parks and Recreation Department will host the monthly farmers markets on September 5th, October 3rd, and November 7th at the Joe Burke Pavilion (behind the Portland Community Center). Hours of the Farmers Market are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The December Farmers Market will be a special Christmas Market on December 5th! More details to come for this special market!

Vendor applications 

Applications are still being accepted for new vendors. For more information on being a vendor at the Portland Farmers Market, call 361.777.4670 or email kconnor@portlandtx.com. Each vendor must submit a vendor application. Applications are due the Thursday before the market. Vendors can pay the booth fee online here.

HEALTH SAFETY PROTOCOLS

To ensure a safe experience for all, the City of Portland's Parks and Recreation Department has placed the following health safety protocols for shoppers and vendors in effect for the Portland Farmers Market:

SHOPPERS ATTENDING OUR MARKET

We encourage everyone who is healthy and feels safe to visit our farmers market.  But we ask that you follow these guidelines:

  • Shoppers must wear a face covering.
  • Please practice social distancing of 6 feet as you shop.  
  • Do not consume any purchased food on-site at the market. All food is being sold to go.
  • Sanitize your hands upon arrival at the market and frequently as you move throughout the space. 
  • We ask that shoppers limit touching merchandise, point and pick, vendors can show you the merchandise.  
  • Booths will be spaced out to allow for social distancing.  
  • Please leave pets at home.    
  • No bike riding or unsupervised children at the pavilion.  
  • Please do not loiter, shop & go.  
  • Anyone who is feeling unwell in any way should stay home.
  • Any shopper who is at a higher risk, including individuals who are over 65 and/or with underlying health conditions, should stay home.

VENDORS ATTENDING OUR MARKET

The following rules are requirements for all vendors:

  • No communal samples. Sample should be individually packaged.  
  • Vendors are required to wear a cloth face covering.
  • Vendors are required to wash/sanitize their hands often.
  • Prepared Food Vendors must package all food for consumption off-site. 
  • Vendors should not allow shoppers to handle merchandise that has not been purchased.  
  • Hand Sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol content) at every booth, provided by the vendor, for customers and vendors. 
  • All booths will be spaced apart to maximize space and minimize clustering from each other, and layouts will reflect this. 
  • Vendors sanitize surfaces at least once per hour.  Table coverings should be plastic or vinyl so they can be sanitized often.  
  • Please leave pets at home.  
  • Anyone who is feeling unwell should stay home.  
  • Any vendor who is at higher risk, including individuals over 65 and/or with underlying health conditions, should stay home.
