The City has engaged an architectural firm to conduct a conceptual development study for the grounds at the Portland Community Center Complex. This study will look at how the site can best accommodate a new Veteran’s Memorial as well as large gatherings for various other outdoor ceremonies and activities. It will also look at our existing buildings and pedestrian flows at the site and how they fit into the overall usability of the complex. The current Veteran’s Memorial and Pavilion at the 13-Acre Park, built in the 1970s, is in disrepair and will be removed. This study is the first step in building a new memorial.
