Tropical Storm Nicholas & City of Portland Facilities Update - 9/13/2021 at 11:45 a.m.
The Portland Community Center, Aquatic Center, and Bell/Whittington Public Library are closing at 12:00 p.m. Kidz Klub and the After School Program are cancelled today, as well. City Hall remains open. We plan to reopen these facilities and resume programs tomorrow at the normal times, weather permitting.
Tropical Storm Nicholas is expected to make landfall this evening near Matagorda Bay. Portland is forecasted to receive rain with no heavy winds anticipated. City officials continue to monitor the storm for updates.
Please note : Republic Services is currently collecting scheduled trash, recycling and bulk. There are no changes to their operations at this time. If this changes, we will notify you.
