City Temporarily Waives Exclusivity for Roll-Off Providers

rolloff.jpg

The City of Portland has temporarily suspended its exclusivity agreement with Republic Services as the sole provider of trash/debris roll-off containers. This will allow Portland residents and businesses to contract with their choice of provider for a roll-off container for debris and brush. The suspension is effective until Sept. 30, at which time all non-Republic Services roll-offs must be removed from the city.

Please note that contractors and providers must be registered with the City of Portland.
As a means to help protect our residents from dishonest contractors, the City of Portland will require ALL contractors to register with the City before beginning any work in Portland. The City is waiving the associated registration fee for contractors hired to repair or build fences, as well as those hired for tree and brush removal. (Please note that if your friends and/or family volunteer to assist you with these repair  or clean-up projects, they are not required to register.) Contractors will be required to furnish their name, address, and driver’s license.

Contractors can register and apply for permits at the Portland Community Center at 2000 Billy G. Webb Dr. starting Monday, Aug. 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Permitting personnel have been relocated to the Community Center from the Public Works building until further notice.
