Declaration of Local State of Disaster Due to Novel Coronavirus - San Patricio County
County Judge David Krebs issued a Declaration of Local Disaster and Public Health Emergency on March 16, 2020. This declaration allows the County to take extraordinary measures "to prepare for, respond to, and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 to protect the health and welfare of the citizens of San Patricio County".

State of Disaster Declaration - Texas
Governor Greg Abbott declared a State of Disaster on March 13, 2020, due to the novel coronavirus spreading in Texas. This signed declaration allows the State agencies to "facilitate and expedite the use and deployment of resources to enhance preparedness and response". The resources include "increasing laboratory testing capacity, coordinating preparedness efforts across state agencies, and working with local partners to promote appropriate mitigation efforts".

National Emergency Declaration - United States
President Donald Trump declared a national emergency under the Stafford Act on March 13, 2020. This Presidential action releases federal resources and agencies, like Disaster Relief Fund and Federal Emergency Management Agency, to assist and enhance the efforts of state and local governments to combat the spread and effects of COVID-19.
