Key Dates in the 2019 Annexation part 2

- Tuesday, April 16 – Adopt a resolution providing intent to annex, preparation of service plan, and setting public hearing dates

- Wednesday, April 17 – Send mailed notice to each property owner, each public entity, and railroad company within the proposed annexation area (§43.062 (b); must occur at least 30 days before public hearings)

- Thursday, May 2 – Publish notice for first and second public hearings and on the website through public hearing date (§43.063; must occur between 10 and 20 days before public hearings)

- Thursday, May 2 – Send mailed notice for the first and second public hearings to each railroad company within the proposed annexation area (§43.063 (c); must occur between 10 and 20 days before public hearings)

- Tuesday, May 21 – First and second public hearings at Regular City Council meeting at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. (§43.063)

- Tuesday, June 18 – City Council deliberation and first reading of proposed ordinance at Regular City Council meeting at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. (§43.063 (a); must occur between 20 and 40 days after public hearings)

- Tuesday, July 2 – City Council deliberation and final reading of proposed ordinance at Regular City Council meeting at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. (§43.064; must occur within 90 days of beginning annexation procedures)
